White-beaked dolphins grow up to about 3 metres long and weigh up to about 350 kilograms.

They are very curious and often ride the bow waves of boats. That behaviour makes them a common sight for whale watchers.
Where they are seen
They are one of the four species most often seen on whale-watching tours from Reykjavik, along with minke whales, humpback whales and harbour porpoises. Faxafloi Bay suits them well, as they prefer waters less than 200 metres deep.
