How to read tonight's forecast
Start with darkness. Iceland's summer sky can stay too bright even when geomagnetic activity is high. Next, inspect the official cloud frame: white areas are clearer and green areas cloudier. Only then use Kp as a guide to how active the aurora may be.
The activity and cloud data come from the Icelandic Meteorological Office. Local darkness is calculated for the selected place using the same solar model as Saga's daylight-hours tool.
