The Hallgrimskirkja church and the Harpa concert hall can be looked around inside without a ticket, though the church tower is ticketed. The waterfront and the Grandi harbour area are open to wander. Some museums have set free-entry days or hours through the year.
Parks, shores, and views
The pond Tjornin, with its birdlife, and the surrounding park are open to walk around. The seafront path along Saebraut passes the Sun Voyager sculpture. Grotta, on the edge of the city, is an open shore with a lighthouse and, in winter, dark skies for the northern lights. The hill Oskjuhlid, below Perlan, has wooded walking paths.
