Mobile Operators in Iceland
Iceland's mobile market is served primarily by three network operators: Siminn, Syn, and Nova. Syn was formerly branded Vodafone Iceland. Syn began operating its mobile brand under the Syn name rather than Vodafone starting in 2024. Siminn is generally reported to have the widest geographic coverage of the three networks, including rural coastal and highland routes.

Coverage on the Ring Road and Highlands

EU Regulation 2022/612 governs the current roaming framework applied across EU and EEA member states, including Iceland. Travelers with an EU or EEA mobile plan can typically use their home data allowance in Iceland at no additional roaming charge, subject to their operator's fair-use policy.
