The fjord has steep sides, waterfalls, and quiet coastline. The fjord is reached by a gravel mountain road over a pass, which is usually open in summer. In winter access can be limited, and a boat has served the fjord.

The waterfall Klifbrekkufossar drops down the valley in a series of steps. The main settlement is the tiny village of Brekka.
