The Westfjords can be reached from Reykjavik by road, by bus and ferry, or by air.
By road
Road 60 crosses Dynjandisheidi and runs through the Dyrafjardargong tunnel, and both are serviced in winter. The old Hrafnseyrarheidi pass is no longer part of road 60 and is not ploughed in winter.
Weather and road conditions in Iceland differ from what most visitors are used to and can change fast.
