Strokkur is a geyser in the Haukadalur geothermal area on Iceland's Golden Circle. It usually erupts every 6 to 10 minutes. The water usually shoots 15 to 20 metres high, and sometimes up to about 40 metres.

A geyser stopped and started again
Strokkur was first recorded erupting in 1789 after an earthquake. It later fell silent. In 1963, it was reactivated by drilling a borehole.
