Litlanesfoss is a waterfall in East Iceland. It is on the same river and path as the taller Hengifoss. The walk to Hengifoss takes about 40 to 60 minutes each way.

The falls framed by basalt

Litlanesfoss sits lower down the slope. Walkers pass it on the way up to Hengifoss.

It overlooks the Fljotsdalur valley. It overlooks the Lagarfljot lake below.

It is a short drive from the town of Egilsstadir.

Basalt columns around the falls

The falls are framed by tall, regular basalt columns. The columns give it its striking look.

The columns form a curved wall around the drop.
